“I appreciate that for the client, litigation is typically either unfamiliar or unwanted territory. I do my best to educate them at the outset in a way that is clear and concise. Often my clients tell me their biggest takeaway (besides being successful) is how I was able to put their minds at ease right from the start, and how much they appreciated my taking the time to do so. Those personal touches shouldn’t be overlooked.”

Matthew R. Hindley is a member of the firm’s Litigation and Insurance Practice Groups. Matt is admitted to practice in Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Maryland, and handles a diverse pool of clients in the Mid-Atlantic region. He regularly represents clients in Delaware’s state and federal courts, focusing on products and premises liability, commercial litigation, construction litigation, and casualty defense, and subrogation.
Matt prides himself on his pragmatic, aggressive representation of his clients. He understands that readiness for trial starts at the inception of the case. Matt prepares his clients to take a case “all the way” to remain in a position of strength if there’s an opportunity for a resolution prior to trial.
While attending Widener University School of Law, Matt interned with the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office and was a judicial extern for the Honorable Barry C. Dozor in the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas. During this time, Matt was awarded the Certificate of Achievement in Toxic Torts for earning the highest grade in his class. He was a member of the Moe Levine Trial Advocacy Honor Society and served as an academic support fellow.
Outside the office, Matt enjoys spending time with his wife, Becky, and their two dogs, Ace and Waffles. His interests include staying active, listening to music, attending live shows, and cooking for friends and family. In the community, Matt is a long-time supporter of St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Since 2020, he has served on the Fundraising Committee for St. Jude’s Annual Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer. At the annual event, Matt also serves as Team Captain of “Jason’s Jedi,” named in honor and memory of his cousin.
