James T. Zois is a Senior Associate in the Firm’s Towson, Maryland office, and a member of the Litigation Practice Group. With more than 25 years of litigation experience, Jim represents clients in liability matters, commercial and contractual disputes, construction law, product liability, complex and toxic tort litigation, and automobile tort matters at both the trial and appellate levels.
Jim has served as local counsel for a global power and energy company before the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation in the MDL-875 asbestos litigation. He also served as national counsel for an iconic American electronics brand in asbestos litigation, overseeing and litigating cases across multiple states. In addition, Jim has represented a leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment in product liability claims and national retail chains in premises and product liability matters. Earlier in his career, he served as in-house counsel for a major insurance company, defending automobile tort and slip-and-fall claims.
Previously, Jim was a Partner at the Baltimore law firm Meringer, Zois & Quigg for ten years. He also served two tenures in the Baltimore City State’s Attorney’s Office, where he successfully prosecuted criminal cases and tried numerous bench and jury trials.
Outside the office, Jim enjoys golfing, watching professional and college sports, and exploring the local live music scene in historic Fells Point in Baltimore. An avid griller, he can whip up a perfect filet for the “turf” to go along with some Chesapeake Bay blue steamed crabs for your “surf.”
