DRI is the largest international organization of civil litigation attorneys. DRI is committed to developing the skills and professionalism of defense attorneys; addressing issues in the civil justice system; promoting the role of the defense lawyer as a general matter; improving our civil justice system and embracing the benefits and contributions such a diverse membership offers. DRI affords its members the opportunity to expand their networks and build their practices.

DRI was founded in 1960 under the umbrella of the International Association of Insurance Counsel (IAIC) to provide information, education and assistance to the defense bar, the insurance industry and defendants. In 1995, after a period of significant growth, DRI became an independent organization, at this time granting $750,000 to the IAIC in recognition of the IAIC-DRI partnership from 1960 to 1995.

Lou Rizzo, Managing Partner, Matt Hindley, Associate and Jim Griffith, Partner (pictured in this order) attended this year’s event. Lou is an experienced litigator focusing on areas including complex commercial and insurance disputes; franchise and professional liability as well as creditors’ rights in bankruptcy proceedings. Jim is a seasoned litigator focusing on insurance defense work in several industries. Matt is a member of the Firm’s Litigation and Insurance practices.
