Robert J. O’Neill, Jr., a Delaware native and a partner of the firm’s Wilmington, Delaware office. Bobby’s broad background provides him with an uncanny ability to assist his clients with a broad range of business, real estate, and personal matters. Bobby is a trusted member of the community and his clients rely upon him for his guidance and passion to ensure his clients are receiving the best legal representation.

Bobby has been a “lifelong” deputy attorney general for the State of Delaware where he began his prosecutorial career in the Wilmington office of the DUI Unit, followed by a tour in the Court of Common Pleas. Bobby was then assigned to the Sex Crimes Unit. He was promoted to Chief Prosecutor of Kent County, where he served for a number of years and returned to the Wilmington office, where he headed up the statewide Asset Forfeiture Unit until 2018. In June 2020, Bobby as appointed Deputy City Solicitor for the City of Newark, Delaware, and handles all criminal prosecutions in Newark Alderman’s Court. As part of his broad duties of service for the community, over the course of his career Bobby has tried nine capital murder cases/penalty hearings in addition to other non-capital murder cases and violent felonies. As the Chief Prosecutor of Kent County, he was an honorary commander at the 436th Air Lift Wing of the Dover Air Force Base and Bobby was selected to attend the National Security Forum at the Air War College, Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama.

Bobby has appeared on Court TV and was appointed by the Honorable Henry DuPont Ridgely to serve on the Superior Court Rules Committee. He also served as Superior Court Arbitrator handling civil lawsuits. Between 1994 and 2004, he was an adjunct professor at the University of Delaware.

Additionally, Bobby was a member of the Board of Directors for Rugby Delaware, a non-profit organization that promotes youth rugby, and a member of the St. Patrick’s Day Society Committee in Wilmington, which helps the underprivileged. Bobby is a member of the Delaware Bar Association.

In the rare moments of not serving the community, you can find Bobby on the bike trail, kayaking in Rehoboth Bay and spending time with friends at the beach. Give him an opportunity to travel and he is game. He is also an avid sports fan and a season ticket holder of the Philadelphia Eagles for over 20 years.
