February 17, 2026 – Reger Rizzo & Darnall LLP Partner and Chair of the Employment Practices Group Robert W. Small served as a juror in the semifinal round of the Montgomery Bar Association’s 2026 High School Mock Trial Competition at the Montgomery County Courthouse. 

This year’s case centered on a medical malpractice claim, with student advocates delivering opening statements, conducting direct and cross-examinations of fact and expert witnesses, and presenting closing arguments. The Honorable Lois E. Murphy of the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas will preside.

Jurors evaluated student attorneys and witnesses on their courtroom performance, including examinations, openings, and closings. Student advocates were also expected to make and argue evidentiary objections with specific reference to the applicable Rules of Evidence, demonstrating not only advocacy skills but a strong command of courtroom procedure.
