Reger Rizzo & Darnall Celebrates The Homeless Advocacy Project’s 25th Anniversary Benefit
Margaret A. Morris, Chair of Reger Rizzo & Darnall’s Utility Practice Group and immediate Past President of The Homeless Advocacy Project of Philadelphia (HAP), and several other members from Reger Rizzo & Darnall's Philadelphia office, joined together with more than 350 members of the Philadelphia community to celebrate The Homeless Advocacy Project’s 25th Anniversary Benefit on April 9, 2015 at the Sofitel in Philadelphia, PA.
Through ticket sales, silent auction proceeds, donations and event sponsorships, more than $300,000 was raised to fund the organization’s many programs, which provide legal assistance and advocacy services to homeless individuals and their families throughout the Philadelphia region. With a legal staff of 8 and a corps of 350 volunteer lawyers, paralegals, and law students, HAP engages in direct outreach to homeless individuals in need of legal services.
Through their work with the Homeless Advocacy Project, Reger Rizzo & Darnall, in conjunction with Lincoln Financial and Blank Rome, proudly adopted the Eliza Shirley House, a homeless shelter for abused women and children in Philadelphia, PA. For the past several years, RRD, Lincoln and Blank Rome have joined together to provide assistance to the families at the shelter. our attorneys and staff host bimonthly legal clinics that provide legal services for issues relating to benefits, birth certificates, protection from abuse, and many other services for the 37 families in the shelter. The Eliza Shirley Center provides emergency housing, educational and medical services for homeless families throughout the Philadelphia region.
