Robert W. Small, Partner in Reger Rizzo & Darnall’s Employment Practices Group, will present a seminar entitled, Employee or Independent Contractor?—The Risks of Misclassification, on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 from 2:05 – 3:05 PM. During his advanced-level presentation, Mr. Small will focus on the factors that must be considered in classifying workers as employees or independent contractors and the risks inherent in misclassification. Mr. Small will provide an overview of rules and regulations governing and impacting the classification of employees, including the Internal Revenue Code, Anti-Discrimination Laws, Unemployment Compensation Laws, Workers’ Compensation Laws and Wage & Hour Laws, among others. 

James L. Griffith, Jr., will present Reducing and Eliminating Exposure to Cyber-Liability on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 from 3:15 pm to 4:15 pm. In his presentation, Mr. Griffith will identify and review regulatory developments that every corporate board and C-Suite executive needs to worry about, and will explore the strategies that are helping companies defeat and/or avoid exposure to government regulatory actions, class actions, and derivative lawsuits that flow from data breaches.
