Daniel J. Moore is a seasoned litigator. His trial experience includes representation of physicians, hospitals, attorneys and other professionals in malpractice actions, employers in labor and discharge matters, manufacturers and distributors in product actions and corporate and individual defendants in negligence and intentional tort cases. He has extensive appellate experience and has appeared in State and Federal Courts of Appeal over 30 times. 

Dan’s litigation defense practice includes:

  • Defense of physicians, hospitals and medical sub-specialists in medical malpractice actions; 
  • Defense of health care practitioners before the Maryland Board of Physician Quality Assurance (representation of physicians, optometrists, podiatrists, nurses, and paramedics before the State Licensing, Review, and Disciplinary Boards); 
  • Defense of pharmaceutical companies in actions involving impure food and drug claims, contamination claims and toxic tort claims;
  • Defense of pharmacies and pharmaceutical malpractice actions;
  • Defense of manufacturers and retailers in product liability claims and have served as both regional and national counsel to manufacturers;
  • Defense of attorneys, engineers, accountants, and architects in malpractice claims and before respective disciplinary Boards; 
  • Defense of retail establishments, restaurants, hotels, and security companies on claims for premises negligence, false arrest, false imprisonment, malicious prosecution, and defamation; 

Mr. Moore is a 1980 honors graduate from the law school at the Catholic University of America. As a student, he won the Miller and Sutherland Cups in oral advocacy and served as Vice Chancellor of the Moot Court. He earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees in Philosophy as a Basselin Fellow, graduating summa cum laude from the Catholic University. He is a former Partner and Vice-Chairman of Semmes, Bowen & Semmes, and from 2001 through 2022, a Partner and President of Moore & Jackson, LLP. He served as outside counsel to the Sheppard Pratt Health System, Inc., Maryland.
