Businesses today are burdened with a panoply of risks they must manage thanks to the Affordable Care Act (ACA). To help manage those risks, businesses should have a good understanding of the dramatic changes taking place in the health and health insurance industries.
Among the notable changes, the ACA has engendered significant growth in the number of commercially available insurance products, healthcare delivery models, collaborators and competitors. Guided by attorneys on the front lines of these developments, participants will better understand the new competition—and collaboration—between insurers and health care providers, the risks and rewards of new products such as accountable care organizations and patient centered medical homes, and the impact these new arrangements and products may have on companies and their employees.
In addition, the program will examine ways in which employees or others could bring lawsuits under the ACA, including whistleblower lawsuits, and potential defenses to those actions. The program will also cover the status of existing lawsuits relating to the ACA, and the impact they may have on corporate America.
