Adam M. Smith is a partner at the firm’s Philadelphia, Pennsylvania office, concentrating his practice on real estate litigation and insurance coverage.  

Adam has successfully represented real estate agents and brokers in hundreds of professional negligence claims in Philadelphia and the surrounding counties. He has also successfully tried numerous jury and non-jury cases in this unique practice area. 

Recent accomplishments:

  • Obtained a jury verdict in Chester County after nine days of trial in which a home buyer sought in excess of $500,000 for a real agent’s alleged failure to disclose material defects. The plaintiffs were seeking compensatory damages, treble damages, and attorney fees under the Pennsylvania Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law.
  • Obtained summary judgment in Montgomery County in a case involving a home buyer who sought in excess of $500,000 for a real estate agent’s alleged failure to properly disclose the potential use of property due to impervious coverage limitations.
  • Had preliminary objections sustained in Delaware County in a case in which a home buyer sought in excess of $250,000 for a real estate agent’s alleged failure to disclose material defects to the subject property.
  • Granted a motion for non-suit in Bucks County in a case in which a home buyer sought in excess of $100,000 for a real estate agent’s alleged fraudulent and negligent misrepresentations pertaining to the sale of the property.
  • Successfully obtained the voluntary dismissal in Philadelphia County of a real estate agent who was improperly accused of breaching his contract with a home buyer.

Adam enjoys baseball, hockey, and soccer and when not in the office, he can usually be found in a stadium or arena.  Adam also enjoys traveling with his family to National Parks throughout the country.
